History of the Hotseat Chat - The Hotseat Chat started as an AOL only chat. Steven named the chat "Hotseat" after a chatroom name that existed back in the olden days. Back in the early days of chatrooms on AOL, sound files were very popular. Everyone wanted to express their moods with sound files, especially if they just installed a sound card! Also, chat rooms didn't have font colors! It was all pretty primative, but the spanking chatrooms were always bustling with chatters and roleplayers. Eventually AIM became a popular chat program, and AOL users eventually could chat with AIM users. Unfortunately, the chatroom must be created by an AIM user, which is why AOL users need to use a link to access the room. I think these compications, and the lack of sound files for AIM users is one reason the popularity of AIM/AOL chatrooms seems to be waning. Because of the decreased popularity of group chats on AIM/AOL we have suspended the Hotseat Chat. Be sure to visit the Cafeteria Chat at Spank School and you might run into some of us.

At first the cafeteria was pretty empty, but then over time it became a popular hangout for the staff and students in the school.
